Interesting Mashup… With No Instruments

We’re not sure who Mike Tompkins is, but he cleverly decided to create a mashup of Katy Perry‘s “Teenage Dream” and Bruno Mars‘ “Just The Way You Are.”  The interesting thing about it is, he claims to have done it all without any instruments.  Although there are definitely production effects added, it seems as though he used only sounds from his mouth to emulate the track.  Check it out above as he sings, hums, whistles and beat box’s his way through the video.  If you stick around till the end, you’ll see Mike trying to prove he did this on his own.

2 Different Hits… 1 Song

If you read our posts daily, you probably remember when we told you that 3 different songs this year have broken the record for most radio spins in a single week.  2 Of the songs are Ke$ha‘s “Tik Tok” and Katy Perry‘s “California Gurls.”  Well apparently Katy was taking notice of Ke$ha’s success, because she basically constructed the same exact song with different lyrics.  Someone else noticed and decided to put the songs together in 1 mashup to prove the point.  Take a listen above and then decide if you want to be mad at yourself for getting hooked to a recycled tune.

A few mashups have hit the net recently, some of which include the song “Intro” from indie darlings The XX.  This one here is getting a good amount of attention online as it pairs the tune up with the vocals of DMX’s “X Gonna Give It To Ya.”
