Yesterday (9/3) was Friday, which means it was the day Kanye West gave out another free tune.  This time, it was the song “Devil In A New Dress.”  Check it out above, and while you’re listening, read all of the crazy tweets Kanye blasted out this morning (9/4).  We’re not sure what exactly is fueling the manic messaging, but dude talks about everything from his displeasure of the media, to his love for country music.  He even apologizes to Taylor Swift.  Something’s not right here.

Taylor Swift currently has a top 10 song on iTunes in “Mine.”  She also now has a video to go along with the single which will be on her upcoming album Speak Now.  Have a look above as Taylor co-directed the piece with Roman White.

Taylor Swift will no doubt have one of the year’s biggest albums when she releases Speak Now on October 25th.  She’s already hit the number 1 spot on iTunes with the song “Mine” from the upcoming disc.  And now we know what the cover artwork will look like.

It should be interesting see if she whow will have bigger debut week… Taylor or Katy Perry who’s Teenage Dream comes out this Tuesday (8/24).  Anyone care to take bets?

Kanye Performing At VMA’s?

In what was arguably the most memorable moment in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West took it upon himself last year to interrupt Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech and tell the crowd why she should have lost. However, it seems like MTV must have forgotten.  Either that, are they are smarter than we think and know that the controversy alone will get people talking and likely tuning in.  Whatever the case, rumors are swirling that the network has asked the rapper to perform at this year’s upcoming award show which is set to take place on September 12th.

He IS dropping a new album in November so it would only make sense that he starts his press campaign 2 months beforehand.  Whether or not the VMA performance takes place, we should all expect to see Kanye much more in the coming months.

Taylor Swift Announces Release Date

Teens and crossover country fans around the world have reason to celebrate.  Taylor Swift has announced the release date of her third studio album.  Its officially titled Speak Now and will hit stores on October 25th via Big Machine/Universal Republic.  Swift apparently wrote all 14 tracks and co-produced the album with Nathan Chapman.  You can expect to hear the first single from the release soon as the track “Mine” will be making it’s way to radio on August 16th.  Fans can also preorder the album starting on August 20th right here.

Kellie Pickler Gets Engaged

Former American Idol contestant turned semi-successful country singer, Kellie Pickler has announced her engagement via People magazine.  She’s now set to marry her longtime boyfriend, Kyle Jacobs who proposed on a Florida beach at sunset last Tuesday (6/15).  That date was already significant to the singer who’s grandmother had passed away on the same day years ago.  She was quotes saying…

“It turned out to be the most amazing day of my life. My whole world changed. We both feel like we got my grandmother’s blessing. I remember saying to Kyle, ‘Baby it’s like I’m dreaming – but if this isn’t real, I’m going to be very upset!’

“Kyle took away all my fear of marriage and has shown me the way love is supposed to be.”

Taylor Swift To Spend 13 Hours With Fans

On June 13th, Taylor Swift will be in her hometown of Nashville, TN for the CMA Music Festival.  And she plans on spending some time with her fans… a lot of time.  From the hours of 8am to 9pm, Taylor will be at the Bridgestone Arena hanging out with those who support her.  More good news for local fans is that Swift will perform at 2pm, during the FREE event.  Yes, the day comes without a charge.

So why 13 hours you ask?  Here’s how Taylor explained it…

“Thirteen is my lucky number and the 13th is during Music Fest, so I think spending 13 hours with my fans is going to be amazing!”

Gotta give the girl some props.  That’s some serious fan commitment which is rare in artists of her stature.

Taylor Swift Gives Surprise 3D Performance

On Wednesday night (1/6), Taylor Swift stopped in Las Vegas on her way to the People’s Choice Awards to play a quick tune at the Consumer Electronics Show. 

The performance was a bit left of center as she played in front of a giant screen which showed 3D images for the crowd who were given special glasses to view the performance with.  The new technology is apparently something Taylor plans to use while documenting her world tours.  Check it out as she speaks about Sony’s new product and plays “Love Story.”
