Trace Cyrus… Reality TV Star?

Tags: , , , , , , , ,

Whether you know him more for being the brother of Miley Cyrus, the former frontman of Metro Station or the son of Billy Ray Cyrus, chance are you know who Trace Cyrus is.  And apparently, you’re gonna be seeing lots more of him… and his dad.  According to this report, the singer and his pops are working with the SyFy Channel on a reality tv show called UFO: Unbelievably Freakin’ Obvious.  The series is set to follow the pair as they travel across the country “investigating conspiracy theories involving unexplained activity and paranormal phenomena.”

I don’t know about you, but if I was freaked out after being visited by some sort of alien, the last 2 people I would want showing up on my doorstep to make sense out of the ordeal is the guy who sang “Achy Breaky Heart” and his son who sang “Shake It.”  Just sayin’.

B.o.B. Working With 50 Cent & Drake?

Tags: , , , , ,

Twitter is today’s fastest news source.  However, it also is guilty of starting rumors.  Whether or not this is true, B.o.B.‘s manager, B. Rich sent out some tweets recently about his main client, suggesting that he is working with both 50 Cent and Drake.  Although both of those collaborations seem fitting as there is no question Bobby Ray has been on a climb towards the top for the last year, we’ll have to wait and see what actually comes of this.  You can read the tweets yourself below and make your own assessment.

New Val Emmich Commercial

Tags: , , , ,

Back in May, we did an A&R Report introducing you to musician/actor, Val Emmich.  As a musician, he’s toured with the likes of Dashboard Confessional, Gavin DeGraw and Gym Class Heroes.  As an actor, he played Ugly Betty‘s love interest for a season, Tina Fey‘s hookup in the “Cougar Episode” of 30 Rock, and stars in the popular Heineken commercial where he flirts with the boss’s daughter.  Well now the New Jersey native has a new Macy’s commercial he’s starring in along side some A-listers which include Diddy, Jennifer Lopez, Jessica Simpson, Donald Trump, Rachel Roy, Martha Stewart and Tommy Hilfiger.  The spot is set to make it’s television debut this Sunday (9/12) but is already up online and can be seen here.

For those of you who are fans of Jersey Shore, you already heard an old song of his on last week’s episode and will hear yet another on this coming Thursday’s (9/9) episode.  As for new music, Val is self-releasing a new album entitled Looking For A Feeling You Never Knew You Needed on Spetmeber 21st.  Find out more info here on the contest he’s doing to promote the release.

New Rihanna Single Coming Tomorrow

Tags: , , , ,

Rihanna Rihanna poses backstage during the Givenchy Pret a Porter show as part of the Paris Womenswear Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 on October 4, 2009 in Paris, France.

It was exactly a week ago today that we shared the news of Rihanna tweeting to Ryan Seacrest that she would be sending him a new song.  Well it turns out, the name of the song is “Only Girl (In The World)” and is set to be released to the masses tomorrow (9/8).  It’s one of the tracks off her upcoming album, Loud which will be out in November, although an official date has yet to be announced.

During a webchat on her official website, the singer said the following about her new body of work…

“I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna. I’m gonna miss the Rated R era too, but NOTHING compares to the album I just made.”

Every artist on the planet claims “this is the best work I’ve ever done” when promoting their newest album.  But in this case, do you believe her?  Do you think she has more hits on this one coming than she did on Rated R?  That’s not exactly an easy feat.

UPDATE: The song is out.  It was featured earlier today by Ryan Seacrest.  Have a listen here and let us know what you think.

New Kanye West Song

Tags: , , , , , , ,

Yesterday (9/3) was Friday, which means it was the day Kanye West gave out another free tune.  This time, it was the song “Devil In A New Dress.”  Check it out above, and while you’re listening, read all of the crazy tweets Kanye blasted out this morning (9/4).  We’re not sure what exactly is fueling the manic messaging, but dude talks about everything from his displeasure of the media, to his love for country music.  He even apologizes to Taylor Swift.  Something’s not right here.

Eminem Brings Out Drake

Tags: , , , , ,

Last night, Eminem and Jay-Z kicked off their string of shows in Em’s hometown of Detroit.  Obviously Em had some tricks up his sleeve as he brought Drake out for the song “Forever.”  Have a look above as the crowd goes ballistic.

You had to figure Drake owed Marshall one since the roles were reversed last month in Toronto.  As for Jay, is it safe to say that he’s gonna bring out Alicia Keys in New York?  Just sayin’.

Chris Martin Debuts New Coldplay Song

Tags: , , , , ,

Chris Martin showed up yesterday to the big Apple conference in San Francisco where the multimedia giant revealed some of their future plans, including their new music based social networking platform, Ping.  The singer played a new song which we presume will be on the upcoming Coldplay album.  The track is called “Wedding Bells.”  Upon introducing it, Martin joked with thetech savy crowd, “This is a new song I’ve been working on. I call it Coldplay 2.6. It has a lot of new features. It features seven different kinds of chords. Even a new one that our closest rivals have no idea about.”

Have a look above at his performance of “Wedding Bells.”
