A&R Report: Stars Go Dim

Tags:

Coming out of Tulsa, Oklahoma, pop rockers Stars Go Dim are bound to break through the mainstream.  Their well crafted songs combine elements of The Fray, James Morrison and Gavin DeGraw as the piano driven tunes are both catchy and soulful.  Although the sound itself is not revolutionary or left of center, this is one act that clearly seperates themselves from the pack.

Although they may still be in their early stages, the band has already received a good amount of love from the industry and fans alike.  John Mayer invited them to take part in his popular Mayercraft Cruise last year along with O.A.R, Guster and others.  They were named Channel One’s Artist of the Year and won the 2008 Billboard World Song Contest with the track “Get Over It.”  In addition, they’ve apparently struck a chord internationally as the band is credited with 2 #1 hits in the Philippines in “Crazy,” and “Love Gone Mad.”

It’s likely just a matter of time before they partner up with the right label and break through the masses via VH1, Hot AC radio and touring.  The talent is certainly there especially given the band has not been together for more than a couple of years.

They’ll be playing in their hometown on February 12th at Cain’s Ballroom, an event with 104.5 The Edge.

Check out Stars Go Dim here and head on over to itunes to pick up the album which came out this past August, Love Gone Mad.
