Yesterday (9/3) was Friday, which means it was the day Kanye West gave out another free tune.  This time, it was the song “Devil In A New Dress.”  Check it out above, and while you’re listening, read all of the crazy tweets Kanye blasted out this morning (9/4).  We’re not sure what exactly is fueling the manic messaging, but dude talks about everything from his displeasure of the media, to his love for country music.  He even apologizes to Taylor Swift.  Something’s not right here.

Remember when we told you that Kanye West wanted to put himself, Raekwon and Justin Bieber on the same track?  Well he did.  It might not be an original track as he just took the instrumental from Wu-Tang Clan‘s 1993 song “Wu-Tang Clan Ain’t Nuthing Ta F’ Wit” and threw some new vocals on it.  But he did get the job done regardless.  And in record time.  Have a listen here to what they are calling “Runaway Love.”

It was big news in the music world when Kanye West finally decided to get on Twitter.  And there’s been a storm of statements from the man ever since.  Most recently, he decided to tell his followers that he will be giving away a new song every week until Christmas, for free.  He’s calling it good Friday, which is obviously due to the fact that his label is called G.O.O.D. Music.  Here’s how it all went down yesterday morning (8/22)…  

“I know yall need the music so I’m dropping 1 new song every weekend until Xmas. It may be my song it may be a new Jay song etc…”

“I’m calling it good Fridays. Yall know every Friday yall gone have a new joint from our family. We look at the game completely different now”

“It’s about the fans. No more holding back. That’s why I dropped see me now… It wasn’t about me it was about the Summer the BBQs etc… ”

Not so sure his (or Jay-Z’s) label will be happy about this.  We’re also not so sure Kanye can actually live up to this promise.  But we shall see.

New Kanye West Remix Of “Power”

A couple of weeks ago, when Kanye West released his new single “Power,” a lot of his fan base was confused by the track being under 2 minutes long.  Well Kanye addressed the issue by doing a remix that is not only longer, but also includes Jay-Z and Swizz Beatz.  Have a listen to the track here as the song also takes a new direction as it brings in the sounds of Snap‘s 1990 hit, “The Power.”

Kanye, Raekwon & Justin Bieber To Collaborate

Looks like this is actually gonna happen.  This past weekend, Kanye West started tweeting about being a fan of Justin Bieber.  The compliments went back and forth for a bit.  Then Kanye threw out the idea of putting the Bieb on a track he’s doing along with Wu-Tang‘s own, Raekwon.  Well XXL spoke to Raekwon over the phone yesterday (8/17) and got the low down…

“It’s definitely gonna happen. When you got these kinda talents merging together to do something exciting, I think it’s something that’s gonna make the fans check it out. I’m big fans of both of these guys. I think, at the end of the day, shorty is a sensation. And [for him] to acknowledge me it makes me feel good that the young generation is checkin’ me out like that. And at the same time it gives me a position to play a big brother in the game. He wants my assistance or whatever he can get it. I respect him, I like his style.”

“Yeezy called me and we gon’ make it pop. At the end of the day we’re all doing our thing in the game and for them to even just have a conversation and just put my name in it it feels good. It feels good to respect what I do and I respect what they do. And we gon’ make a hit. Justin got his own fan base and Me and Yeezy got our own fan base and we gon’ make it happen. We gon’ make a good record.”

Kanye West Worked With Bon Iver Frontman

Although we already knew a laundry list worth of names that Kanye West worked with for his upcoming album (set to drop in November), we didn’t know he was bringing in any heavy hitters from the indie scene.  Well according to this interview that Bon Iver frontman, Justin Vernon did with Pitchfork, he worked on no less than 10 tracks with Kanye, at least 1 of which will be on the album.  Check out the full interview as Vernon drops some classic gems about the experience out in Hawaii, such as…

“I was literally in the back room rolling a spliff with Rick Ross talking about what to do on the next part of a song. It was astonishing.”

And…

“There was one night where I was in the control room with the engineer and John Legend was in the sound booth singing along to something that I did. It was just like, ‘Holy shit, man. There’s John Legend in there singing like a motherfucker.’”

New Kanye West Track Featuring Beyonce

Yesterday, Kanye tweeted that he may leak some tunes which we expect would be from his upcoming album.  And with that, this new tune hit the net today which features none other than Beyonce.  Uncle Charlie Wilson also supplies some vocals.  The track is called “See Me Now” and was produced by Kanye, No ID and Lex Lugar.  Take a listen below and let us know what you think.

Kanye Performing At VMA’s?

In what was arguably the most memorable moment in the history of the MTV Video Music Awards, Kanye West took it upon himself last year to interrupt Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech and tell the crowd why she should have lost. However, it seems like MTV must have forgotten.  Either that, are they are smarter than we think and know that the controversy alone will get people talking and likely tuning in.  Whatever the case, rumors are swirling that the network has asked the rapper to perform at this year’s upcoming award show which is set to take place on September 12th.

He IS dropping a new album in November so it would only make sense that he starts his press campaign 2 months beforehand.  Whether or not the VMA performance takes place, we should all expect to see Kanye much more in the coming months.
